Overview

Nestled in the heart of Farmingdale, New York, Flavor-A-Bowl (Oh! RAMEN) offers a refreshing, authentic ramen experience that stands out in a sea of generic noodle shops. This modest spot at 503 Conklin St caters mainly to takeout customers, though there are a handful of simple, clean tables for those who want to dine in. The small, neat space complements the focused menu, creating an atmosphere where quality and flavor take center stage.

Flavor-A-Bowl's ramen is the undeniable star. Dishes like Pork Belly Ramen, Hot & Spicy Ramen, and the Shoyu Ramen offer precisely balanced broths that are rich without overwhelming the palate. One thoughtful detail many diners appreciate is how the broth often arrives separate from the noodles, preserving texture and freshness until the final moment. The Tonkatsu ramen impresses with its crispy pork cutlet, while the Shrimp Tempura Ramen brings a satisfying crunch alongside tender noodles.

Beyond ramen, the menu features an appealing variety of classic Japanese comfort foods and appetizers. Steamed dumplings and fried gyoza are expertly prepared, with tender fillings and crisp skins. The Donburi rice and Bento boxes, such as the Fried Chicken Katsu Bento, provide hearty, well-rounded meals, complete with accompaniments like soft boiled eggs, pickled radish, and miso soup. The Chashu Bao Buns and Yakitori skewers add a street-food charm that's both accessible and flavorful.

What truly elevates Flavor-A-Bowl is the seamless balance of authenticity and customer-centric service. The staff are known for their warmth, often going the extra mile with thoughtful gestures like complimentary appetizers, as shared by several patrons. Though seating is limited and there’s no restroom for on-site diners, the takeout experience is consistently praised, making it an ideal spot for busy locals or ramen enthusiasts seeking a dependable meal to enjoy at home.

This restaurant appeals especially to those who appreciate traditional Japanese flavors presented with care—the ramen lovers, the adventurous bento fans, and anyone looking for a genuine taste of Japan in a cozy, no-frills setting. Whether you’re craving a spicy bowl to warm your evening or a crispy cutlet packed with tender meat, Flavor-A-Bowl delivers with passion and expertise.

In essence, Flavor-A-Bowl (Oh! RAMEN) invites you to savor time-honored recipes crafted with fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. It’s a small gem in Farmingdale that’s winning hearts through quality and friendly service. For anyone keen on authentic ramen and complementary Japanese dishes, it’s a destination worth seeking out again and again.

My husband and I stumble upon this ramen spot one random night in farmingdale. It was around 9pm (their closing time) and they still took our to go order. It was quite possibly the best ramen that we’ve tried and we always go back each time. Our most recent visit today we were given a free appetizer to try out and it was amazing. The food is amazing and the service is fantastic. There’s limiting seating inside but we always order to go. We order the chicken teriyaki ramen and pork chashu along with the chicken bao buns. The chicken skewers were the free apps that we were given and they were fantastic. Very tender and juicy

I had the Handmade Steamed Pork Bun, Tonkatsu Ramen and Fried Gyoza take away. All was very good. The ramen was expertly prepared and I appreciated that they leave the broth separate so you have a proper Ramen when you arrive at home. Tonkatsu was crispy and very delicious. I also enjoyed the egg I wish they offer this as a side option for extra. Will definitely return

Flavor-A-Bowl is more like a takeout place with a couple of small tables. It’s a nice simple clean place. We did dine-in and their ramen was delicious. The teriyaki chicken was great. The soup base was very flavorful like a bit too flavorful. The only down-side is there’s no restroom for customers, so be mindful if you do decide to eat-in. We will definitely return to this little ramen place to try other dishes.

I was in the neighborhood visiting my college friends and was starving for Asian food. Found this little gem that offered takeout and dine-in and figured, why not let’s try it out. I had the crispy tofu and chicken teriyaki and was quite amazed at how authentic and delicious the meal was. I think they’re a new restaurant too - the owners were so sweet, I’ll be back to try their buns & popcorn chicken, saw the table next to me get them and it looked yummy!

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. If you love authentic, tasty, flavorful, savory, and filling ramen this place will already be on your radar. I can say enough words about how easy it is to make a choice, add toppings or remove anything for allergies, then simply enjoy. You will not be disappointed. I can't wait to get back to try the rest of the menu.

Hands down the best ramen I’ve ever gotten on L.I. The beef tendon was so delicious and thinly sliced it melts in your mouth. I created my own bowl & the options were awesome. Also love the marinated soft boiled egg. I love ramen spots that marinate the eggs. Throughly enjoyed ! Will be my new spot for my family.
